I’m able to load some very large datasets on this machine with Tecplot 360. Just to give you a frame of reference, the machine that I’m demonstrating on today is a Microsoft Surface Book with four CPUs, 16 gigs of RAM. Tecplot has some very intelligent disc IO and memory management capabilities to make sure that you can load large datasets-large transient datasets-on a constrained machine. Discs are really becoming the bottleneck to loading your data. With the number of CPUs that are increasing and the speed of the CPUs, your data sizes are growing roughly with Moore’s Law.
